I’ll be honest—I’m not one to embrace change with open arms.
It usually doesn’t feel like an exciting opportunity or a new adventure to me. No, for me, change often shows up like an uninvited guest, barging in when I feel least prepared. It enters loud and unannounced, tossing around everything familiar like it owns the place. Suddenly, I’m floundering in the discomfort of what I can’t control, trying to find my balance in a room that no longer looks the same.
When that happens, my instinct is to hold on tighter. To cling to what I know, to what feels safe—even if it’s no longer where I’m meant to be. But the harder I resist, the harder it becomes to move forward with grace. I find myself tired from the fight, yet too afraid to let go. Can you relate?
Right now, I’m in one of those seasons. The kind where change comes knocking whether you’ve rolled out the welcome mat or not. And let me tell you—the tension is real. The stretching, the surrender, the in-between-ness of it all… it’s a lot. Sure, I know from experience and Scripture that these are often the very places where God does His deepest, most beautiful work. But even knowing that, there are days I still ache. Days I still wrestle.
Because the truth is, what my soul really needs to hear in the middle of this stretching season—and maybe what yours needs too—is found in Psalm 84:11:
“…The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.”
Let that sink in for a moment. No good thing. Not a single one.
Friend, when the ground is shifting beneath you, when you’re wondering if you’ve missed it, if you’re behind, or if you’re even cut out for what’s next—this truth stands tall: God isn’t holding out on you.
Even in the transitions.
Even when the future feels foggy.
Even when your heart is aching for clarity or closure or certainty.
He’s not punishing you—He’s preparing you.
He’s not withholding good—He’s making room for it.
He hasn’t walked away—He’s walking you through.
This in-between space? It’s not wasted. It’s not empty. It’s not a detour. It’s sacred ground where God is working things out in ways you can’t yet see.
So, if you’re tired of holding it all together… if you’re unsure of what’s next… take a breath. Let yourself loosen the grip. Because here’s what’s true:
The good things aren’t gone.
They’re still ahead.
And the same God who led you here is the One who will lead you forward—fully and faithfully.
You don’t have to strive or stress or perform to earn what’s already been promised.
You are held.
You are guided.
And you can walk forward in peace, even when you don’t have all the pieces.
