This week I shared something tender and sacred: My husband and I are planting a church.
Even as I type that, my heart is racing. Not just with anticipation—but with deep reverence. Because this isn’t just a new assignment. It’s a holy invitation that’s been quietly tucked in our hearts for years.
In 2023 God whispered this call to us. It wasn’t loud, but it was unmistakable. We knew it was Him. Still, the timing wasn’t right, so we laid it down—not out of disobedience, but out of surrender. We kept serving, loving, learning, growing. We trusted that when it was time, He would make it clear. And He did.
This year, that quiet word started stirring again—this time with weight. We felt it in prayer. In restlessness. In confirmation after confirmation. We went back to the notes, prayers, and whiteboard sketches we had previously put down in faith. Until finally, there it was: a clear resounding “Go.”
I wish I could say I leapt with joy. But I didn’t.
The truth? I wrestled. I hesitated. I dug in my heels a little. Okay, maybe a lot. It felt too big, too real now. I felt a bit like Jonah—slow to say yes, slow to trust that God would meet me in the unknown. But in His kindness, He didn’t rush me. He patiently walked with me. He spoke gently and often. He reminded me that every time He calls, He goes with us. He provides. He makes a way.
So here I am—still early in the process, but fully surrendered.
We don’t have a building or answers to many questions just yet: What we do have is a clear call, a deep love for people, and a vision we can’t shake.
This space will be my little corner to share the journey with you—quiet updates, answered prayers, things we’re learning (and unlearning). We’re not rushing this. We’re walking slowly, listening closely, and trusting deeply.
Thanks for being here. For reading. For asking how we’re doing. For praying. We really can’t do this without the people who’ve walked with us this far. It means more than we can say.
More to come—but for now, we’re sitting in the sacredness of this yes, resting in the beauty of obedience and trusting the God that said Go.
You go trusting. We are praying for you and Emelio as you walk in His presence.
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.””
